Get Directions from Trieste to Ljubljana. That was the question I asked at Google and I do not know how to respond,at least not very clearly. This is not a blog (or at least pretend to be) style "What to see in .....","5 Things to Do in ....",or alternatively "How to get to ....",and that there much on the internet as do other and better than me,then this blog (though perhaps not get to blog, rather it could be said to be "ravings of a snail on journey not really know where it goes but it does not know very well where it comes from ", as the original name of this blog) is rather about personal experiences on some trips out there (hence the name, how original right?)
That said,Mr. Google I was able to take of the problem,he could not give me a proper answer,at least in Castilian ...... took me to Russian pages,or Slovenia,or Romanian, and none seemed to give me what I wanted (mainly for my absolute ignorance in these languages) ....So I did what I always do,get on the plane to Trieste, and to get there, ask ....If you come to Rome asking, asking you reach Trieste, and asking will get you anywhere (well, almost anywhere, they said there is no way to reach Finnish Lapland wondering ... (?))
But perhaps there are people who ask the same question, turn to Google, and find the same answer that I (or any),then by nearly a excpeción to the strict rules of this blog (?),I'll put a shallow explanations how to get from one point to another, from A to B,from Trieste to Ljubljana, for those people who prefer to be sure how to get to a place before leaving home.
Parénteses open one. What difficult for me to write Ljubljana!.I close parenthesis.
So I'm writing this on the train that takes me from Sežana to Ljubljana in Slovenia. That is,the final leg of the journey, which means I found the way (which is not great feat, admittedly ....) .....
But first things first. What is Trieste? What is Ljubljana?Where is that?Trieste is Italy, north far north,in the region of Friuli, where it is almost Austria Italy,or rather where it is almost Slovenia Italy (?).Ljubljana is the capital of Slovenia,in the Balkans.Slovenia is a new Republic, independizada in 1991,one of the six republics that formed the disintegrating Yugoslavia (the others are Croatia,Serbia,Bosnia Herzegovina,Montenegro and Macedonia .... and recently Kosovo,so that the account would 7 and not 6).
More or less, the maps are these (clarified that the former is "stolen" from some internet site, and the second from google maps ...) ...
The first is the location of Slovenia in the Balkans and in Europe in general, and in the second an approximate distance of what the trip Sežana-Trieste-Ljubljana .....

And the Euro remains expensive, travelling in Italy will be a real challenge for budget-minded travellers.
Not sure how long you're going to be over there, and how set you are on staying in Italy... but one budget-minded option would be to train due East to Slovenia, and possibly even south from there into Croatia. However, my apologies if this advice doesn't work with your plans.
