Schengen Area

By having a common external border, the requirements to enter any country in the Schengen zone are practically the same. Chileans do not need visa to travel as tourists for up to 90 days, but that does not mean there are no other requirements.

Requirements to enter the Schengen Area

  1. Passport with a minimum validity of six months from the date of entry into the Schengen Area.
  2. Passage return within 90 days (NO 3 months, but 90 days. For example, from October 1 to January 1 there are 93 days).
  3. Certificate of accommodation. Certificate may be a hotel reservation where they will host or a letter of invitation from a resident of the country to which they travel.
  4. Health insurance. Must cover a minimum of € 30, 000 in illness and / or accidents (no deductible) plus cover repatriation in case of death. In addition, the insurance company must have official representation in Europe. There are also insurance cover loss or delay of baggage, theft, legal assistance, among others, and worth quoting.
  5. Proof of financial resources. This varies from country to country, but some are about € 60 per day if you have a hotel reservation, and € 30 per day if you have a letter of invitation. It can be cash, travelers checks or debit / credit (to justify the money on the cards must submit a bank account statement, it serves an ATM receipt).

    • Kerala (India) is amazingly green and has great beaches - abt 4.5 hour flight.

Turkey has areas that are green, hilly - cold in winter anyway - 4 hour flight.

Both of these two destinations can be done pretty cheaply.
