Schedule subject a little while I came back to Paris land for a few weeks.I walked away quite a few of my iPhone normally, moving it truly becomes a third hand. The opportunity to share 7 (free) software that I find most useful for effective travel.

Here are my seven favorite applications to go on a trip:

  • TripCase
  • Tripwolf
  • Evernote
  • Google Latitude
  • Skype
  • XE Currency
  • Tips for Travelers

TripCase is a travel assistant that keeps and updates in real time your flight information and hotels. Not having internet constantly traveling, this App allows you to keep handy all your travel info, and updated.

Simply create a "Trip" to add your different flight numbers, and why not your hotels.TripCase is then charged to retrieve the latest travel information. You can also forwarder him the confirmation email of your airline, then TripCase in recovering all your flights and / or hotels.Practical and effective,it worked for all but Croatian Airlines to me.

A few hours before your flight, terminals and gates are updated,as well as potential delays your flight.I even noticed that the app gives you an estimated time of arrival (before the start!),Probably based on the history of flight data. What database come from?Who knows ... (FlightStats?).

Tripwolf helps you recover and maintain best practice guides for virtually all travel destinations.
Again,a small nugget.
The latest version still contains free guides, but also allows you to buy more comprehensive guides.I have not tried them.

You want to know the stuff in a new city? Well it's simple, you're looking in your city tripwolf and hop.
So obviously,a trip you did not always have access to the mobile internet. So tripwolf offers a simple but sublime function: offline. When you see a guide, made "download".The guide then download on your iPhone, and you will see it offline.
App was essential when we went with the auction of Roissy. We learned that we were going at 9am in Copenhagen at 10:30.Hop a shot tripwolf and we had a guide to places of the city.

How are the guides?

Well actually it's lists of places that guides itself. What makes them even more practical.
For each city,we have the top bars,restaurants,museums,nightlife,... and my favorite, the "Top Things To Do."You then have access to top things to see in a city.

When you're in town for a weekend,no less useful it is a shortlist of the top things to do / see in all categories.
After testing the addresses,I think it is quite current and comprehensive enough.Bars and restaurants listed are real places essential that cut well probably Routard,Lonely Planet, and other A Great Weekend ...
Whether to add the app also uses GPS to tell you your distance to each of these places.

Evernote is the app that remembers everything for you.

In Evernote, you can save notes, photos, voice (voice recorder) or even web pages.

To use Evernote, you must first create an account, either through the application or via the website 's Evernote .You can then download the PC or Mac application. The principle is simple, the notes will sync between your desktop and your iPhone.Practice to have a hotel reservation in hand,or a wikipedia page or a blog page.
Obviously you understand, like many apps in this article,Evernote will keep your notes locally on your iPhone for offline access.

I'm leaving Thursday for Germany, Austria, Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, and Montenegro for one month. I have reservations in Austria for one week. After that I was just planning to travel without reservations. I have guide books. It's always nice to get advice/information from people who have been there.

I would love it if its cold, hilly, green, beach etc., I dont wnat any crowded city area or deserts.. I cant afford a lot of money too. May be i can spend around 4000 dhirams inclusive of flight tickets.. Pls let me know if you know any such place.

    • Kerala (India) is amazingly green and has great beaches - abt 4.5 hour flight.

Turkey has areas that are green, hilly - cold in winter anyway - 4 hour flight.

Both of these two destinations can be done pretty cheaply.
