Where to run in Ljubljana

There are direct flights from Brazil to Ljubljana. But the country's location is excellent, bordering Italy, Austria, Croatia and Hungary, and you can find flights to major European capitals Ljubljana (Barcelona, for example, the flight time is around 2h). The airline of Slovenia is Adria , who is part of Star Alliance.

Another choice is to get to Ljubljana by train. There are direct trains from various European cities, including Venice, Vienna, Zagreb, Budapest, Munich, Frankfurt, Zurich and Prague. To check schedules and prices, see the website of the company trains local Slovenske Železnice .

The city's airport is the Jože Pučnik, which is about 30min drive from the center of Ljubljana. There is no mystery: the airport is small and uncomplicated, but no major or local shopping options for snacks.

From the airport, if you take a taxi, the price is around € 30-35. Our tip is to take the shuttle bus ( Shuttle Markun ), which, in € 5, leaves passengers in front of the Central Station Ljubljana (there are about 10-15 minutes walk to the main hotels in the city). The Shuttle Markun is right in front of the airport exit.

To go from the city to the airport, just take the Shuttle Bus at the same point, opposite Central Station Ljubljana. Not to miss your flight, stay tuned to the departure times of buses on the company website .

The central Ljubljana good offer of hotels. Suggest check availability by site of the Tourist Office of the city .

We stayed at the Park Hotel . Well located, immaculately clean, has an area of another hotel and hostel rooms (we stayed in the hotel). The breakfast is completinho, and the staff is helpful and speaks English perfectly. Please note that only like comfort rooms have free internet (and excellent), but with cable (borrowed from the hotel).

The Tourist Office Ljubljana has several addresses and maps offers great and small free guides. In addition, also has shops, which sell from plush dragon - the symbol of the city - even umbrellas, magnets, T-shirts (all in good taste) and other sophisticated. See the addresses:

- Adamic-Lundrovo nabrežje 2.1000 Ljubljana (in front of the three bridges);

- Station Central City;

- Krekov trg 10, 1000 Ljubljana (no store)

Another fantastic tool to help plan your trip itself is the site of the Tourist Office Ljubljana: the allows travelers to create a profile, select the attractions you want to visit later to print - a kind of personalized guide!

    I would love it if its cold, hilly, green, beach etc., I dont wnat any crowded city area or deserts.. I cant afford a lot of money too. May be i can spend around 4000 dhirams inclusive of flight tickets.. Pls let me know if you know any such place.

    • Kerala (India) is amazingly green and has great beaches - abt 4.5 hour flight.

      Turkey has areas that are green, hilly - cold in winter anyway - 4 hour flight.

      Both of these two destinations can be done pretty cheaply.
